The Last Samurai is a great movie set in Japan. It is a brilliant movie about the time when the foreigners were just beginning to get to the japanese islands and they were beginning to send their army and weapons to try and destroy the samurais. So an american general played by Tom Cruise gets sent to Japan to help the japanese army develop their ability to get stronger. So then they also send the foreign weapons to them. But then when they get into their first battle with their new weapons, and because of them being afraid they had to retreat and the foreign general stays behind with the samurais and he learns something very interesting about the great samurai history and how they live, and what the leader of the entire country of japan thinks of these findings. And you will learn something about him if you keep a close 

I think this movie is a great war movie a little bit of blood but not much. But if you are the type of person who really likes to get a tear out then this is the movie for you. There isn’t many bad things about it. Only if you are more for the short themes that only last short times in the movie then this is a bad movie for you. Also remember to have a version that has a translator from Japanese to English on it or it gets complicated at a few points.

Also if you would like to learn some  more about the history of the samurais then this is good. But you will also learn some American history about the native Americans. 

I would like to tell you that this is a movie you should sit with your mom and dad and have a good drink and some tissue with you if you think you will cry when a lot of people die in a beautiful environment.
